Description
Egypt and It is unique in
the Sahara: a fascinating landscape of snow-white chalk and light yellow sand.
The constant blowing of the wind shapes the soft chalk into mysterious
sculptures and seemingly bizarre compositions. The starting point of the hikes,
led by local Bedouins, is Farafra, a primeval oasis with date groves and
mineral-rich hot springs.
We are offering a
new version of this trip, namely for explorers who want to get to know the
desert in all its diversity, but do not want to spend the night under the open
sky. You will stay at the El Badawiya desert hotel in Farafra and take day
trips into the spectacular surrounding countryside. Equipped with a daypack,
after a journey of varying lengths, you roam the desert on foot in an off-road
vehicle and leisurely get up close and personal with this fascinating
landscape. In the evening you will be driven back to the hotel where you can
share your experiences with your fellow travelers over a tasty local-style
meal. An authentic desert experience and cozy comfort are not mutually
exclusive, with our hiking weeks in the Farafra area we offer you both
together.
