Day 2 : : Visit The Great Pyramids, Sphinx, Sakkara.

After breakfast at the hotel begin the day with one of the real highlights of any visit to Egypt, a visit to the three pyramids of Giza. While once located in remote desert, they now touch the suburbs of modern Cairo. No matter how many photos or documentaries you have seen, your first glimpse of these marvels of the ancient world will take your breath away. A qualified Egyptologist will be able to expertly explain the facts and myths behind these three mammoth works of art. You will also visit the mysterious Sphinx with its lion’s body and man’s face.
If time permitting there might be the chance to see inside one of the pyramids, take a ride around the pyramids on camel back! (NB. Extra entrance fees apply to all of these sites/activities)
For many travelers, the pyramids mean only the famous Giza's monuments, but there's another group of pyramids within short distance of Cairo, Where pyramid building in Egypt first began. The Step Pyramid of Saqqara is magnificent evidence of the early architecture of the pharaohs and the Old Kingdom's most amazing treasures. In recent years, Saqqara has become headline-grabbing archaeological news as more discoveries are made during ongoing archaeological work here. The most recent finds of the funerary tomb of Queen Nearit - wife of 6th Dynasty Pharaoh Teti - and 52 burial shafts with over 50 coffins are only the latest in a mind-boggling array of discoveries. For history fans, a day trip here is a must-do while in Cairo. When the trip is finished, return to the hotel.

FAQs related to this tour

It has never been a problem, however you have to put up sometimes with annoying verbal harassment and this happens to egyptian women as well. The best thing is to ignore and go on. It can sometimes get really irritating but reacting does not work. There is nothing forbidden in egypt. You do not need to cover up or anything of the sort, yet to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to yourself, do please cover your shoulders and cleavage and do not wear shorts. It is just a matter of feeling comfortable and fitting in. Best footwear are sneakers as there is a lot of walking and it is dusty and sometimes the streets are in poor condition and dirty.
Egypt offers a wide variety of 3-star hotels. The prices range from $12 to $20 per person per night in a double room. I would suggest you check hotel directories for rates and locations. Backpacker services are not popular in egypt, although a few are available
