First stop is at Edfu to visit Temple of Horus, one of the best preserved temples in the whole country. Dedicated to the god Horus, it was built between 237BC and 57BC, during the Greek Period on the top of remains of previous temples that had been built here. The reliefs on the walls tell the story of Horus taking out his revenge on Seth, for the murder of his father Osiris, and give a fantastic insight into ancient Egyptian religion. An enormous 10 foot tall statue of Horus, the falcon god, stands at the entrance of the main temple building, and there are also a granite shrine to king Nektanebo , the remains of a mamissi (birth-house), and the base of a pylon that once belonged to a Rameses II temple. The second stop allows you to visit the unusal Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to two gods (Sobek and Haroeris ) It is built symmetrically, with two entrances, two sanctuaries, and a clear division that separates the temple into one half Sobek and one half Haroeris. It is a Ptolemaic temple, built with sandstone from the nearby Gebel El Silsila quarries. The forecourt and outer corridor were added during the Roman Period.
From here you will continue on to Aswan, where your guide will assist you with check in at your hotel , overnight at hotel in Aswan

Day 07: Abu Simbel temple -Aswan – Cairo by train

This morning you will have a very early start, to visit the site of Abu Simbel. Situated approximately 285 kilometres south of Aswan, including crossing the Tropic of Cancer, these two world famous temples are absolutely amazing. Built by Ramses II in honour of himself and his favourite wife Nefertari, these rock cut temples were moved, in 1968, to escape the encroaching waters of the newly formed Lake Nasser. After your visit here you will be driven back to Aswan, stopping along the way to visit the Aswan High Dam, which created the world’s largest fresh-water lake.. You will then be taken on a short motorboat trip to Agilkia Island, home of the Temples of Philae since their previous location was flooded due to the creation of Lake Nasser.
Once the tour is completed you will be taken to Aswan Railway Station to board your evening train (sleeper train) back to Cairo: the journey takes, on average, about 14 hours.

Day 08: Arrive Cairo – Sakkara & Dahshur

Once you have arrive Railway Station our staff will and take you on the short drive back to Sakkara, but this time to see the northern side of this enormous site. Here you will get to visit the step pyramid and an optional visit to one of the famous mastaba of Mereruka, the largest mastaba in Egypt and one of the most interesting. See the huge statuesque figure of Mereruka emerging from a false door; gaze in awe at the fantastic reliefs, including one that shows ancient Egyptians making wine: grapes being brought in, Egyptian trampling on them, then the wine being removed. After this phenomenal experience ,will be another optional to enter the Pyramid of Teti to gaze at the pyramid texts carved on the walls. Few pyramids had any type of internal decoration, but 3 or 4 have been discovered with this type of text, which are composed of spells to aid the Pharaoh into the next life. Lunch is an optional and then drive to Dashur, First of all you will get to visit the Red Pyramid, also known as the Northern Pyramid, believed to have been built by the Pharaoh Snefru. It was the world’s first “true” pyramid, meaning it was designed as a smooth sided structure, not converted from a step pyramid. Access into this pyramid is free, though it does mean negotiating a very steep interior slope: well worth it for the views inside! From here you will be taken the short distance to see Snefru’s famous “Bent Pyramid”, so named due to the change in angle that was forced upon the builders due to the pyramid being built on soft sand, which caused it to start subsiding. After this exiting day you will be drive back to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel .
